Ben joined the United States Peace Corps and was stationed in Nicaragua between 2001-2003. From 2005-2007 he worked as a staff geologist with a private consulting firm and attended a graduate program at Humboldt State University. For the past 12 years, Ben has worked for the State Water Resources Control Board; a State of California government agency that focuses on protection of water quality. He currently lives in South Lake Tahoe, CA with his wife Sara and his two boys Eli and Jackson. Ben’s love for the outdoors began during his childhood and upbringing in Trinity County and he still pursues many outdoor adventures and activities such as back-country skiing, backpacking, fishing, hunting, and mountain biking. Ben maintains his connection to Trinity County through frequent visits to his folks who still live in the Douglas City area and through annual snow surveys and back-country bow hunting adventures in the Trinity Alps!
