Kindergarten Readiness Program

Trinity Together and the Trinity County Office of Education (TCOE) have been asked by First Five to work with all school districts in Trinity County to assist programs which support school readiness of Kindergarten and T-K students. The purpose of this project is to decrease the workload of schools and teachers while improving the quality of early childhood education.

Trinity Together has four objectives to accomplish during the 2018-2019 school year. We will be:

1) Surveying the parents of all 0-5 year old children in order to assess the home learning environment and gaps in family support services
2) Supporting age relevant schools and teachers in conducting a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment of all students entering T-K and Kindergarten
3) Updating and distributing the recommended Kindergarten preparation activity checklist to all parents of 0-5 year old children
4) Educating parents and the community about the importance of early childhood learning and parental involvement for lifelong success

Career Experience Program

The Career Experience Program (CEP) is a coordinated effort between Trinity Together and Trinity Alps Unified School district to give high school students job shadowing and internship opportunities.  CEP links students with paid and unpaid work experience in their communities to build a variety of skills and become work ready. The result is that young people are able to explore and broaden their career options and develop the soft skills they need to be successful on an off the job.

If you are a student who is interested in participating in this program, or a business who wants to mentor a student in a work experience opportunity, email Teckla Johnson at teckla@ttccp.org.
